Stuck Sketches August challenge....

I am playing along at Stuck Sketches this month - It's a great little sketch that I ended up turning upside down. I had some fun with fishing line (boy oh boy that is challenging to work with!)...
Added some micro beads mixed in with some paint and gel medium to hopefully look like sand, a little bit of Purple Pumpkin goodness and gotta love that little Stuff2Scrap beach hut - too cute!
There isn't much time left but head on over here and give it a go!

I could die happy right now!

This may seem a little sad but I just HAVE to share this with SOMEONE ...  I am home alone at the moment and have tried calling my sister (she's not home).... my mum (she's probably out in the garden and can't hear the phone)... I literally HAVE to share this before I pop so I am going to share this with you...
I went to my local thrift shop to drop off some unwanted bits and bobs and went in for a look around and you will NEVER GUESS WHAT I FOUND!!! ....

I did embarrass myself by letting out a little squeal of delight when I saw this vintage Dymo machine!! It was only $5!! What is even MORE exciting is that I went to this same shop about 3 months ago and found these.......

Yep - you are not seeing things... 10 rolls of Dymo tape...never had a Dymo machine at the time but just knew that one would turn up somewhere... don't you just LOVE when that happens!! I am totally thrilled and could die happy right now!! Since I am so excited I will share the rest of the treasures I picked up too......

The Dymo machine for $5, a ratty canvas for $1 (looks terrible now but wait and see what I am going to do with it...!), a bag of chalk for my little ones $1, just under 4m of calico fabric for $2.50 (I see flowers!), a pair of dumbells $2 (don't laugh I really am going to use them one day!), an enamel bowl and cup $2.50 (I can NEVER go past vintage enamel - just love it!), and those GORGEOUS OshKosh  silver shoes for my daughter $5.50 (she will be SO excited about those pretties!!) So all of this for under $20 - are you kidding me!! The excitement here is truly PRICELESS!

Creative FUN!

Well my renovation is ALMOST finished ...ALMOST! It's been a huge job and once the weekend is over it should be done.. Having said that, I have been enjoying my (mostly complete) new room so much I have sneaked a little time to create! There are some great challenges out there this month and I can't wait to get stuck into them!

The first one I had a go at was August Kraft it Up challenge (just love my kraft cardstock!!) ... It was a sketch challenge (see further down)... here is what came together...
I used Echo Park 'Playground' and of course lots of 'Stuff 2 Scrap' chippies ...don't you love the bubble look on them - lots of fun! If you want to get your hands on some of the love hearts or the funky arrows head on over to http://www.stuff2scrap.com.au/ - they have LOADS of fun chippy designs!

A quick little PEEK!

Hi all! Well I am madly getting ready to take off for the weekend to my Mum and Dad's 40th Wedding Anniversary party - so excited! Truth be known we are meant to be leaving in one hour and I am still sitting here in my PJ's! Uh Oh!
I just wanted to share a quick peek of the front cover of a mini book I have made them to celebrate their 40 years of marriage. I haven't managed to finish it yet but will give them what I have completed and then take it back to complete it ....!  They are such a beautiful couple - still madly in love after 40+ years together - truly inspiring!
I hadmade those red cabbage roses ages ago and have been waiting for the perfect thing to use them on - I just love them!

Stuff2Scrap August Challenge

This is my first layout for the Stuff2Scrap Creative Design Team...  so VERY exciting!!

I used lots of paint and mist and stamping in the background and some MME paper, bookpages and then loads of flowers ...black and teal ones are handmade, red one is Kaisercraft, white one is Maya Rd. And the most stunning part... the chippies of course!! The title word 'beauty' was painted and embossed, the bird was sprayed with a little white chalkboard mist and the gorgeous flower border was a corner design that I snipped to make it straight... these are ALL from Stuff2Scrap - aren't they gorgeous!!
