June Artastic Challenge

Hi all!
Well I just managed to finish my June Artastic Challenge!

It was a take on this painting and for extra points you had to use *pattern paper *2 people in the pic * A boat somewhere in the lo.  This was pretty challenging but I managed to tick off all 3 in this one!

Here is my layout....  Papers are MME and some Cosmo on a kraft background - painted - embossed - misted etc and the little boat in hand-made from fabric, paper, toothpick, buttons and twine.

Pop on over and have a go...you have until tomorrow to get your entries in!! http://artasticchallengeblog.blogspot.com/
Good Luck!!

'Show Us Your Stuff' June challenge

Hello again! Well I've finally found some time to scrap - life has been busy lately!
Thought I would take on the 'Show us your stuff' June challenge which is to use Teal and Cream colours and use a handmade item.  I used Echo Park papers and some handmade flowers (the cream little one is not handmade) and some lovely handmade acetate butterflies.  I had fun putting some beads and stamping into some ultra thick teal UTEE too for a different look. This is an old pic I have been wanting to scrap for ages and it seemed to match the colour theme well and it's my first attempt at a 12x8 layout which could become addictive!!...
Thanks for stopping by!

From Louise Nelson's Class...

I'm back with a quick share...the finished layout from Louise Nelson's Class on the weekend!! The layout was meant to be a double but I changed it to a 12x12 and will use the other part for another lo sometime soon.  I also changed the title but the rest is pretty much what we were taught in the class by 'The Master' - she really is amazing!! I hope I did it justice - thanks Louise!!

SOOOOOO Inspired!!!

Hello! Well I spent the weekend at the Scrap Expo in Brisbane and have been SO inspired! Not only were there lots of goodies to be had, the work on show by other scrappers was mind blowing!  I spent the weekend with my Ma (we go together every year) and was surprised by my scrappin bestie Kaz who turned up on Saturday - yay!! We had a blast!

I got to meet two of my fave scrappers there ....I think I may have embarrassed myself a little ...I'm such a dag... it was a big thrill for me though!!

First of all I met Jess from 'A Happy Scrappy Place' and she was just as sweet in person as she is on her blog!! Here are her details.... be sure to have a squizzy - she's just great!! http://thehappyscrappyplace.blogspot.com/ .

I was also lucky enough to do a class with the most amazing artist/scrapper Louise Nelson...WOW! Her work is just so incredible and she is so lovely - I was star struck!! It was an honour to meet her and the layout following was inspired by her class (I did start a layout in the class but it's not finished yet!). Here are her details too http://louise-justloolabelle.blogspot.com/

It's a little 'mixed media' background - collaged dictionary pages. I then used blobs of paint and distress ink and kept spraying it with water to let everything drip and mix (lots of messy fun!). I used some mist and clear crackle paint to give it a bit more texture, then had fun decorating it!  It is very different for me but I want to try lots of different things and this is definately different!!
Thanks for popping by!

A boy and his dog......

Hello! I have been working on this layout FOREVER....you know the ones that just don't want to come together no matter what you try to do! Anyway, I forced myself to sit down and finish it and I'm happy with it (although I still think it needs something top left so I may keep playing!). I used Crate paper and some October Afternoon and a little Sass .....I'm loving my home made denim flowers at the moment so it had to have one of those...!
I am off to the Scrapbooking Expo in Brisbane this weekend which I am just so excited about (3 more sleeps!!) .... I look forward to it ALL YEAR!! I'll be itching to get back and scrap some challenges after that with all my new goodies and some new techniques!! ....see you back here then!!
